Many people get treasure hunts and scavenger hunts confused with each other. A treasure hunt game is where players receive a sequence of clues that eventually lead to a final treasure. They start with one clue, and this clue will lead them to the location where the next clue is hidden. Clues can be created with riddles, rebus puzzles, word games, codes to break, etc...
The last clue leads to the treasure. The treasure can be anything the party host wished. I have a large selection of in home treasure hunt games. In these games all of my clues lead to regular household objects, that way you won't have to purchase special props to play. I am currently working to create an "around town" treasure hunt games. These will lead players all throughout the town.
A scavenger hunt on the other hand, is where players are looking for a number of different items at the same time. An Easter egg hunt is a type of scavenger hunt. You search for all the eggs at once and collect them as you find them. Another type of scavenger hunt involves players receiving a list of items they must try and collect in an allotted amount of time.
I design my scavenger hunts a bit differently. My scavenger hunts involve printable items that the host must hide and the players must find. The actual printable item differs, depending on what the theme for the scavenger hunt is. Many of my scavenger hunts involve collecting clues to solve a mystery, or collecting clues to reveal the location of a hidden treasure.
I also create themed printable scavenger hunts that all revolve around a specific idea such as my fairy scavenger hunt, cowboy scavenger hunt, and superhero scavenger hunt.
I am always adding hunts and also welcome your theme ideas that you would like to be made in the future. Need a custom hunt made, I will do that to. I also have fill in the blank treasure hunt games where I provide all the clues and you fill in the blank with the hidden location.
